Scholarship Program Information
Guidelines
The Law Enforcement Assistance Fund (LEAF), the charitable arm of The Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership, LEAP, announces the 2024 LEAF Scholarship Awards Program. Under the Program, scholarships will be awarded to seniors graduating from a high school in Tennessee. Only children or stepchildren of sworn officers in the Franklin Police Department are eligible to apply.
The LEAF Scholarship Fund has an annual $6,500 funding cap. If more than 5 qualifying applications are received, then total funds will be awarded in the following manner: Only one $2,500 Carson Award and only two others may receive $1,000 ea. The balance of funds will then be divided and awarded equally to the remaining applicants.
Those who receive scholarship awards in 2024 are eligible for future years if they maintain a 3.0 GPA. The Carson Award recipient will receive $500 annually for 3 more years, and all others will receive $250 for 3 more years. All awards are at the discretion of the LEAP Board.
Program Guidelines & Priorities:
* Seeking graduating seniors.
* Applicants must have a minimum weighted GPA of 3.0 and plan to attend an accredited 2 or 4-year College.
* Scholarship funds will be paid in AUGUST 2024 directly to the college institution on the student’s behalf. It will be the student’s responsibility to submit their final proof of eligibility at that time, including: an invoice for tuition and fees showing the student ID number and your college accounting/purser’s office mailing information.

The completed application and supporting documents must be submitted and accepted by 1800hrs on May 31, 2024.The scholarship(s) will be awarded at a ceremony held in June (to be determined) in the Community Room of the Franklin Police Department.
