About LEAP

The Law Enforcement Assistance Partnership (LEAP) is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization that assists our Franklin, Tennessee Police Officers. LEAP provides confidential assistance to officers in times of need…medical situations, injuries, life situations, etc. LEAP has helped officers who were injured on the job, suffered life-threatening illnesses, needed extra help due to unexpected life changes, and more.  Our volunteers jump in and offer support whenever they need us. 

LEAP also provides college scholarships to officers’ children. Each year, LEAP accepts applications from officers' high school seniors and awards them $500-$1,000 scholarships to help them with their college expenses. In 2022, we added the Jeff Carson Memorial Scholarship for $2,500. This scholarship is awarded to the qualifying applicant with the highest GPA. 

LEAP purchased much-needed communication equipment for officers to use in barricaded/hostage situations. This allows them to communicate with multiple officers and with the person inside. This is potentially life-saving equipment, and we are so proud to have been able to purchase it for them. We host events for our officers, including meals during Police Appreciation Week, family picnics, periodic food at the station, and so much more. 

Starting in 2022, we began hosting an officer family support group. This allows officers and their families to get together and build relationships with one another. It is great emotional support for the families. We are very grateful for our officers and their dedication to protecting and serving our community.

As a volunteer-run 501(c)(3), LEAP Franklin receives no local, state, or federal funding. All funds are generously donated by citizens and organizations in the community, with 100% of the proceeds going to support the men and women of the Franklin Police Department.
